Budget 2023: The Goldilocks Surplus
This month I take an in-depth look at the 2023 “Goldilocks” Budget. Somehow treasurer Jim Chalmers and Labor have lucked out with a once-in-15-year surplus, but can they use it to help those out in the cold while not overheating the economy with inflation? Meanwhile Peter Dutton and the coalition argue that instead of giving a tiny increase to welfare recipients, this money would be better used to fund holidays and the mining industry. GOOD STUFF.
